Story of Tim Carson - Canadian National President
I came from a dysfunctional family. My father left us when I was six years old and my mother left us when I was ten. I was then raised by my Grandparents. Up until I was twelve I went to Sunday School, at fourteen I began to get rebellious.
I joined a couple of street gangs and at nineteen I bought my first motorcycle. At twenty-three I joined a motorcycle club. After two years in the club I was made Road-Captain, a year later a Sergeant at Arms, and the next year I was made the Chapter President. It wasn't long before I was asked to run for National Vice-President of the club, but I declined because I could sense something was happening; someone was praying for me, I soon found out that someone was my sister and my grandmother.
About twenty-five of us from the club were on a run and we pulled into a
service centre, another club pulled in soon after us. We wanted to see who they were. They were called, "King's Kids" and when we found out they were "religious" we moved away from them. Two of them came over to me and handed me a piece of paper, (it was a tract) I wanted to read it but the peer pressure I got from my brothers in the club was too much. I tossed it on top of the garbage intending to return to get it back. But with my brothers always around I couldn't return.
My Grandmother gave me a book on future events which I was interested in. Then she asked to go to a series of movie's that were playing in Chatham which was where my sister was living at the time. The movie was being shown at a coffee house where my sister hung around at.
They were about "End Time Event's" that werefore-told in the Bible. I took my Grandmother and we went to see the movie called, "Distant Thunder". It was good and they announced they'd beshowing another movie in the series the next week which was called, "A Thief in the Night." The following week I took my Grandmother to see that movie, and it was very interesting. Then the next week was announced that they'd be showing the last of the three movies, called "Image of the Beast."I wanted to see the movie but every long weekend there is a mandatory run in the club. I decided to see the President and tell him how my 82 year old Grandmother wanted to see this movie. He said, "Go, but be on the island (the place where our run was) for Sunday morning."My Grandmother and I went to see the movie. Afterward it was over a man asked everyone to bow their heads, and anyone who wanted to receive Jesus was to raise their hand. I looked around and everyone had their head bowed and then I raised my hand, a few others did too. The man asked for all those who raised their hands to come up to the front, they were going to pray. There was no way that I was going to go up to the front. He then read from Romans 10:9,10" Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:10 "For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation."
I thought about what I did all night and the next morning.I went to the Island to meet with the club. Romans 10:9, 10 kept coming to me. The
Lord spoke to me and He told me I had to tell someone what I had done.
I answered the Lord with, "tomorrow", but the Lord said, "today!" Once again I said "tomorrow and again the Lord said, today!". This was my first argument with God. Waiting until tomorrow made perfect sense to me since we were on an Island and I couldn't swim, nor walk on water, and tomorrow I would be back on the main land. The Lord said, "What if you die today? " He won! I walked over to three of my closest brothers and said I had something to say to them. They said, "Yea." So I began to share with them, how the night before I had made Jesus the Lord of my life. One of the members said, "So!" I said, Well, I just had to tell you that, and I walked away, and because I was obedient and did what the Lord told me, I felt great peace like I had never felt before, I was glad I had finally listened to the Lord, (He is always right.) Another member said, that I was all done and that I would be leaving the club.
I stayed in the club for four more months; during that time I continued to try to share what the Lord was doing in my life. The day came when I was told I had to stop talking about Jesus or quit the club. That was my last meeting. I told themI would quit the club because I could never stop sharing about Jesus. I have been with the Lord since 1982.
In the last 25 years the Lord has shown me a lot and I wouldn't change a
thing. Seven years ago the Lord led me to join the first chapter of the Heavens Saints M/M in Canada. And I can’t wait to see what He will
do in the next 25.
