NEWS FROM NATIONAL HEADQUARTERS

Dear Saints and Friends:

Here it is May already and we are well into this year’s riding season! The calendar is overrun with events. Please be sure to keep the Heaven’s Saints National Rally at the top of your list of events to attend. We call it the “Friends and Family” Rally because we invite members, i.e. “family” as well as friends of the ministry to attend. It’s also “family” because we encourage you to bring your families along with you when you come. The Heaven’s Saints ministry is close to our heart and our family can’t help but be involved! If not only by actively participating but also by the sacrifice of sharing of our time and space in our home with the ministry. Our families are a large part of the ministry. It’s not always easy to divide time between them all, but it’s my philosophy that our relationship with God, of course, is always first and then our relationship with our family follows right behind, because that’s what He wants us to do. Our children are the arrows in our quiver, Psalm 127:3-5 “Behold children are a heritage from the Lord, The fruit of the womb is His reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior so are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed but shall speak with the enemies in the gate.” We would be poor warriors if we didn’t give the utmost attention to the condition of our arrows. And, so as not to bring condemnation down on anyone—when you have done all that you can do and tried your very best with your children, then you have to the leave the rest up to God, and simply remain attentive to their needs, ready and willing to listen and help as it seems reasonable, and bring them to the rally if you can!

May is National Fund Raiser Month! This is the month when chapters hold separate events to try to raise money for the National Heaven’s Saints ministry. Money that they receive throughout the year goes into the chapter for their own events. This month, the money will go towards needs of the national ministry. Those of you not in a chapter are encouraged to participate in whatever way you can to help raise money for the national ministry. Some people are under the misguided notion that the money raised goes to fund the national rally in June. This is only partially true. Some of the money is used for the national rally. However, the dues and other donations received throughout the year also help to fund the national rally along with funding the newsletter, equipping the saints, and office expenses used to promote the ministry. However, the majority of the money raised in May goes towards extending the Heaven’s Saints ministry into areas beyond where we are established already and letting others know about the ministry and allowing us to do things that we might normally not be able to do. This in turn enables us to do what this ministry is dedicated to do, reaching others, especially those in the motorcycling community, with the Good News that Jesus saves! I’m grateful for those areas that we are visible in now. I am grateful for each member and each chapter and the work that they do in the name of Jesus. However, there are still SO MANY more places and people we need to reach. This is a huge continent, and we are but a small group in comparison to the population we seek to reach. Each dollar we receive enables us to extend our reach a little further and to get the word out to more people. Matthew 9:37-38 “The harvest truly is plentiful but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the Harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” We not only desire to reach the unsaved, but we need laborers to do it! Reaching into new areas enables us to find new laborers too! Remember when you first heard about the Heaven’s Saints? Were you not yet saved? Were you recently saved coming out of the biker lifestyle, wondering how in the world you would ever fit into being a Christian? Were you sitting in church Sunday after Sunday thinking there must be something I can do to reach those who no one else seems to be able to reach out to? Where were you? Remember where you came from? Think back to the beginning. There are others who need to know there is a ministry like ours and that there are people like us.

I remember those days. Sitting in a church, wondering will I ever be able to share what I feel with people that understand where I’m coming from. And then, I heard about the Heaven’s Saints. It was an awakening, it was a joyful moment. It gave me a new purpose in my walk to reach out to those maybe like-minded people who would hesitate to go to a church or who are wondering what else is out there for us. So, in that respect, the responsibility of those God put into this ministry, our responsibility, is to bring somebody else to the place of great joy and purpose for their life.

We welcome Ken Spriggs as our new Ohio State Representative. Ken and his wife Diane have been members since 2004. Hippie Kaiser, our former Ohio State Rep., recently moved back to live in North Carolina.

Looking forward to seeing you in June if not before!

God bless, Bruce Potenza,
President, S.F.F.S.

AROUND THE US AND CANADA

N.E. Georgia Chapter

Someone shared this story with me and I shared it at our February monthly meeting. Here at The Northeast Georgia Chapter we are on a quest to better reflect Christ. We are trying to see the people around us and the situations we encounter through the eyes of the Spirit. We are praying the same prayer Elisha prayed for his servant when he could not see the blessings of God which surrounded him in 2 Kings 6:17 “Lord I pray open his eyes that he may see.”. We are also trying to become better acquainted with the many tools the Lord has given us to live victorious lives. Tools such as: bible study, prayer, fellowship, witnessing, listening, teaching, preaching, etc. Your Brother in Christ, Rory Daily, Chaplain Northeast Georgia Chapter

JUST LIKE JESUS

John 14:9 “He who has seen Me, has seen the Father” Could I be mistaken for Jesus?

A few years ago a group of salesmen went to a regional sales convention in Chicago. They had assured their wives that they would be home in plenty of time for Friday night dinner. In their rush, with tickets and briefcases, one of these salesmen inadvertently kicked over a table which held a display of apples . Apples flew everywhere. Without stopping or looking back, they managed to reach the plane in time for their nearly missed boarding. All but one. He paused, took a deep breath, got in touch with his feelings, and experienced a twinge of compassion for the girl whose apple stand had been overturned. He told his buddies to go on without him, waved goodbye, told one of them to call his wife when they arrived at their home destination and explain his taking a later flight. Then he returned to the terminal where the apples were all over the terminal floor. He was glad he did. The 16 year old girl was totally blind! She was softly crying, tears running down her cheeks in frustration, and at the same time helplessly groping for her spilled produce as the crowd swirled around her, no one stopping and no one to care for her plight. The salesman knelt on the floor with her, gathered up apples, put hem back on the table and helped organize her display. As he did this, he noticed that many of them had become battered and bruised; these he set aside in another basket. When he had finished, he pulled out his wallet and said to the girl,” Here, please take this $40 for the damage we did. Are you ok? She nodded through her tears. He continued on with,” I hope we didn’t spoil your day too badly.” As the salesman started to walk away, the bewildered blind girl called out to him,” Mister….” He paused and turned back to look back into those blind eyes. She continued,” Are you Jesus?” He stopped mid stride, and wondered. Then slowly he made his way to catch the later flight with that question burning and bouncing in his soul; “Are you Jesus?” Do people mistake you for Jesus? That’s our destiny, is it not? To be so much like Jesus that people cannot tell the difference as we live and interact with a world (shopping, working, reacting to others that are serving us) that is blind to his love, life and grace. If we claim to know Him, we should live, walk, and act as He would. Knowing Him is more than simply quoting Scripture and going to church. It’s actually living the Word as life unfolds day to day. You are the apple of His eye even though we, too, have been bruised by a fall. He stopped what He was doing and picked you and me up on a hill called Calvary and paid in full for our damaged fruit Let us live like we are worth the price He paid. Then people will see Jesus in you.

Praise GOD ! We serve a living GOD. I was thinking the other day (yea it's scary). I just had my 52nd birthday in March and on Nov. 17, 2006 I will be saved for 10 years. Yes, it's been 10 years since Barry read me the sinners prayer and my life changed. I was in my shop the other day and I saw the trophy I got at that biker Sunday Nov. 17, 1996. It was sitting on the shelf all dusty and dirty. Are you/me sitting on the shelf getting dusty, been doing the same things. It's time we shake the dust off and move forward in JESUS name. Since I will have been saved 10 years on Nov. 17, 2006, the road has not always be smooth and clear; but it helps to have real Christian brothers who can help smooth the roads (even on my rigid pan) over the last 10 years. I know there is no one like a brother and sister in the LORD. The kind words, the hugs, the understanding and the love that is given to me when I need it. I thank GOD for them all. The roads my not be smooth and clear but praise GOD I don't have to ride them alone. I have a friend in JESUS. One day I will ride my pan on streets of gold PRAISE GOD!! It's also been over 42 years in the world lost, from being made to wear a suit and go to church when I was young (sure wish I had stayed there) to running the streets around 12 or 13 years old, hanging out with the local MC club, drinking and drugin’, growing up on the streets, riding bikes and not knowing where I parked my bike, too drunk and drugged to even care. The things I have done over the 42 lost years. My prayer is that others will not have to wait this long to come to know the Lord. What a blessing it would be to learn of HIS love at a early age and be saved by the grace of GOD still young. Looking at that dusty trophy on the shelf, it doesn’t look so bad now, I think I will take it down and polish it , make it clean so it will shine in the light. Just as I will shine with the love of JESUS. You never know who's looking at you. You might be the one that cleans the next one who needs it. Share the love of JESUS with everyone. Stay in HIS word and listen to what HE says. I thank you all for all your prayers and for being there the last 10 years. The last 10 years have been the best and the blessed I have ever had and I will enjoy each and everyday till JESUS takes me to ride on the streets of gold. I love you all IN JESUS NAME Amen Rodney S.F.F.S PS: Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this motorcycle ministry. GOD BLESS!!!!!!! Things going on!!!!! Greetings and God Bless....from North Carolina. The weather is warming up and we're slowly but surely thawing out after another winter, and now it's time for us to get down to business. The better part of last Fall and this Winter has been devoted to putting North Carolina back on the map as far as this ministry is concerned. It has been one big roller-coaster ride. Nothing but advances and setbacks. We did manage to establish a chapter in Western North Carolina in the Asheville-Waynesville area, and it is up and running now. With that chapter established, I have focused my attention on the Charlotte-Concord area. I believe that this area has the capacity to produce a very strong chapter. In theory, for now, that is so. We're trying very hard to get the word out and let people know that we do indeed exist, and that we're trying to get a chapter going in that area. I've had people respond to us, but so far we've not found anyone who is dedicated enough to put the time in. Plenty of people who want to ride on the weekends, but not determined to do ministry. As nice and well meaning as these people are, I feel that is not what we're looking for. So the sifting continues. Perhaps I'm being too much of a visionary, but I feel that in the near future, the possibility exists to establish chapters in the Charlotte-Concord area, Hickory, and hopefully in some of the Eastern cities of NC. Somehow or another, I feel that he Lord will help us to make that happen. The work goes on.

There is something that has been on my mind lately, and I feel the need to share it with you all. We're not a HUGE ministry, but we're growing. We've not gotten so big for our britches that we've become an "association" with member ID numbers. Neither have we grown so big that our leadership has detached from the membership. We're still big enough to be effective, but small enough that we're still family. Which brings me to my point. Since we ARE family, we need to make sure that we look in on one another and help one another out. I know it's easy to get caught up in the day to day, but it's nice to hear from a fellow member calling to make sure you're ok. With the many things going on in our lives, sometimes we forget to check on one another. We lose communication. Satan does not want us close. He does not want us to work with one another. His job is to divide. His job is to distract us. That keeps us from achieving our missions, and from fellowship with one another. Let's look out for one another and take the time out to call, write, or stop by. Let's keep in touch more than just at the National Rally. We've got a new ministry season before us. Let's put good plans on the table and try to implement them. Lay our pride and opinions aside and do what is best to achieve our goals this year. Forgive one another when we step on each others toes, and lay aside any hard feelings. Don't allow Satan to divide us. Focus on our missions and get them accomplished. Be good stewards of what God gives us to work with and give generously to others when you can. As for our leaders, me included... Ask God for wisdom and direction, so that we can make good decisions. Ask God for guidance so that our resources can be distributed in a way that best serves the mission. Be attentive to the needs of our chapters and our members. Ask God to help us resolve difficult matters. Also, pray to the Lord to protect our members and keep them safe in all situations while out on the road. I see good things happening this year. I pray that the Lord will bless this ministry, help it grow, and keep us safe.

God bless, CJ, Western North Carolina State Rep.
